The MAC (WP4) is inextricably linked to all the objectives of the project as it offers users the opportunity to explore the issue of climate change using pre-designed content to help them start co-creating their own.

It provides them the opportunity to learn by creating their own realities in collaboration with children from five different countries simultaneously supporting children's interaction in a multicultural and inclusive learning environment.

Objectives

The specific objectives of WP4 as regards the pupils are to

  • become aware of their CC experience-based beliefs that might constrain CC science learning causing misconceptions;
  • receive information gradually based on their learning progressions
  • develop their green, STEAM and digital skills at the co-creation environment.

As regards teachers, the objectives are to

  • enhance their teaching on STEAM education curriculum in a fun and age-appropriate way;
  • work in a creative learning environment for self-directed, blended learning that facilitates the incorporation of STEAM methodologies where STEAM is embedded and forms part of the children’s everyday experiences;
  • engage pupils in meaningful AR empowered activities that develop their sense of curiosity, their problem-solving skills, their teamwork and ability to adopt multiple approaches to achieve non-prescribed solutions to develop their digital and sustainability competencies and most importantly to become agents of change.

Main Results

  1. Needs Analysis: CLB will prepare a needs analysis survey for stakeholders to provide MAC developers with the necessary insights into their needs. The needs survey and analysis supports the UI/UX development of the necessary features and capabilities of the MIRACLE AR Classroom (MAC).
  2. Design of the MAC UI/UX deign of the necessary features and capabilities. The usability of the MAC is important for dissemination, utilization and user acquisition. The MAC is an online environment including services and tools purposefully brought together to support the needs of teaching and learning on CCE. The digital tools of the MAC are the AR tools and the co-creation space. Pupils will be able to: explore content, as the MIRACLE app will them to interact with 3D models and scenes; create their own AR content using the ARC Create app with 3D models developed for the MIRACLE project; and collaborate simultaneously in the AR space with exploration and creation options facilitated and supported by teachers.
  3. The MIRACLE AR tools: for the augmentation of materials
  4. The Co-creation Space: for the online collaborations among teachers and pupils.
  5. Teacher Training Activity (C2): A 3-day training on the use of the MOOC (WP3) and the MAC (WP4) for 3 teachers from each partner school and the experts from each partner.
  6. The WP4 Validation Report will be a document summarising all validation results and the procedures that have been done to ensure that WP4 results consistently maintain satisfactory quality. This formal report is necessary before the project results can finally be presented to European schools outside the partnership.
